Viber
Nedir Viber?
Bu terim şu anda yalnızca İngilizce olarak sunulmaktadır.
Viber is an over-the-top messaging app with a business messaging program that lets companies send transactional alerts and run two-way conversations with its roughly one billion users. Orbit offers two tiers: a one-way notification tier under an allow-listed alphanumeric sender ID, and a two-way Viber Business tier under a branded verified sender (logo and verified name) registered through Rakuten Viber.
More detail
The one-way tier is outbound-only — OTPs, appointment reminders, and one-shot notifications — and provisions automatically on first send with no per-tenant Viber signup. The two-way tier delivers inbound replies back to your webhook and supports rich media, but onboarding runs 5–10 business days because Rakuten Viber registers each branded sender by name.
Both tiers share the same send endpoint, so upgrading from one-way notifications to two-way conversation is a provisioning change, not a code change. Viber is also an eligible hop in a message cascade, so an undelivered send can escalate through the chain to reach the recipient on a channel that can deliver.

- What's the difference between one-way and two-way Viber tiers?
- One-way is outbound-only under an allow-listed alphanumeric sender ID — it self-provisions on first send for transactional alerts and OTPs. Two-way runs under a branded Viber Business sender (verified name and logo) that Rakuten Viber registers before first use, and it delivers inbound replies back to your webhook for conversational support. The two tiers never overlap in provisioning.
- Do recipients need the Viber app installed?
- Yes — like every over-the-top channel, Viber messages land only for recipients who have the app on their device. For reach-critical traffic, put Viber in a cascade with SMS so an undeliverable Viber send escalates automatically to a channel the recipient can receive.
