This week in Orbit is the weekly editorial series that collects every announcement we publish. It runs on a fixed cadence: a dated weekly installment, with a monthly Orbit release notes recap in parallel. This post defines the series, the channel groupings, and how to use it.
One hub, two cadence slots
Every announcement lands in one of two slots, and both index off the blog:
- The weekly slot.
This week in Orbit — <date>entries cover only what actually shipped that week, newest first at the top of the blog index. Each installment states the week it covers — the first entry sets the convention. - The monthly slot.
Orbit release notes — <month> <year>recaps. The first installment, August 2026, sets the convention and carries the recurringrelease-notestag that makes the class machine-identifiable.
The canonical history stays at orbit.devotel.io/en/changelog. The editorial series mirrors it rather than replacing it, and entries never promise capability before it ships.
Grouped by channel
Announcements group by the four hot channels, so you can follow the pillar you actually run:
- AI voice. For example, per-agent backchannel cues and the sensitive-words redaction list, announced in the August 27 weekly entry.
- SMS. Deliverability and compliance edits, for example the 10DLC rejections guide: 10DLC campaign rejections and TCR vetting.
- Email. Sending identities and deliverability: transactional email deliverability and sending identities.
- Video. Rooms and their embed surface, announced in the August release notes.
The resources hub holds the foundational guides behind those announcements, so a buyer landing on either surface can land in a dedicated channel hub.
How to follow each channel
- AI voice. Open Agents in the dashboard for the agent controls each entry names; entries link the docs guide when one exists.
- SMS. Watch the deliverability and 10DLC posts; the public 10DLC calculator covers registration math.
- Email. Follow the deliverability series; entries name the sending-identity surface in the dashboard.
- Video. Follow the release-notes recap; the embed walkthrough lives in the video docs and is linked from each announcement.
Onboarding and announcements share a history
Onboarding fixes and improvements are announced the same way as product capability: a changelog entry first, then the weekly series. Three August examples, each linked to its own entry in the canonical changelog: the onboarding plan features list fix, the signup organization seating fix, and the WhatsApp connect CTA visibility fix. Every entry in a weekly installment links back to the canonical page, so a first-run improvement is traceable from the series to its source entry.
Read the cadence in the index
Posts are listed newest-first, so the entries since your last visit sit together at the top of the blog index. Skim the dated weekly installments, or fall back to the monthly recap when you want the month in one page. Either is a five-minute habit that keeps you current on what shipped.
