DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) is the telemarketing-compliance framework India's telecom regulator TRAI mandates for every business sending SMS to Indian recipients — the sender's entity, header (sender ID), and message templates must be registered on a per-carrier ledger before any traffic delivers. Unregistered senders or mismatched templates are rejected by the carriers themselves, not by the sending platform, so DLT registration is a hard prerequisite for Indian A2P messaging.
